The 28 Constellations

gwaibiu

The 28 constellations in Chinese is called the "Yee Sup Baat Suk" 二十八宿 which means the 28 constellations. It's 28 groups of stars that the Chinese observed which they surround the planet earth around the sun. The Chinese also combine this with the Tin Gon 天干 and Dei Jee 地支 and other systems such as the Hoh-Toe 河圖 "river diagram" to reference back and forth to form their foundation knowledge of the how the pattern of nature works.

The 28 Constellations and their names

28star

Since the observation method of the 28 constellation is closely related to the 12 dei-jee and the 10 tin-gon and so we also keep on adding to these diagrams and come up with the diagram above showing the constellations patterns and a name with one character for each constellation and divide the whole pie into four according to the Hoh-Toe 河圖 "river diagram".

428

The Chinese even grouped the 7 constellations in the north, south, east, and west into 4 groups and used an animal to described the group's look.

East 7 constellations - Green Dragon, 青龍 because green is the color of "wood element" and dragon symbolize growth just like in the spring time. (reference to hoh-toe!)

South 7 constellations - Red Phoenix, 朱雀 because red is the color of "fire element" and the phoenix means active and high above the sky like the hot bright sun in the summer!

West 7 constellations - White Tiger, 白虎 because white is the color of "gold element" and the tiger is quiet and furious just symbolize the harvesting time.

North 7 constellations - Black Turtle, 玄武, because black is the color of "water element" and the turtle is not moving much but still alive, living, growing. Just like winter time. (reference to farming!)

Along with the taichi, the bagwa and all that, we come up with THIS final product:

28poon

With this product above, we have the first few rings of the fengshui compass, which is the "Loh Poon" 羅盤 which include the center, the 4 directions, the dei-jee and the 28 constellations. Referencing back and forth, the ancient Chinese now explains what each of the constellations relates to on the cycle of life as well and here is what they come up with:

East 7 Constellations

The Fengshui Compass

lohpoon

Later on, the wise one added more and more layers to the circular diagram and so more and more layers were formed and all put into the same circular pie. After many years, this is how the fengshui compass looks like with tons of data from the astronomical study system! It may looks impossible to learn them all but congratulation to you, we had just walked you through a few layers out of the many in the last few lessons! It's not THAT hard, right? Just always keep in mind that Chi in Nature will bring you to the right path and the genuine knowledge! No superstitious here, absolutely none! We are professional in exorcism and exorcism also relates to these foundational knowledge as well! Amazing? Scientific? Logical? Yes they are!

lohgig

The above is the Loh-Ging (compass) made in the "Han" Dynasty 漢朝 which is used for navigation and checking out the directions and all the other informations. As you can see there are the Tin Gon, Dei Jee, and 28 constellations and the pre-heaven bagwa as well. Very cool!
