How to Start building your own altar
Prior to setup, please read the 3 rules and if you are okay, we can now start with some Taoism magic!
Setting up the Tin Yat Altar in Tin Yat Lineage is easy as 1-2-3. All you need to start is a find a place at home to setup your altar. It must be somewhere clean but it could be in your bedroom, living room, working room, office, or even a special altar room if you want. It's all your choice, but not the garbage room or the washroom of course. Common sense please.
1. Setup the table, it have to back backed against a flat wall. With nothing on the wall. The whole table have to be cleaned and empty. Any simple table is fine. Size can vary from a small table to a big work desk as well.
2. Get yellow paper and a frame. Frame must be at least 11x8.5 letter size or up. (go big if you like), cut yellow paper to fit the whole frame, get a black marker or pen or even a Chinese calligraphy brush if you want to go with that.
3. Using black ink, write the words on the picture on the right onto the paper and frame it up. Remember, copy EXACTLY what is on the page here.
4. Put frame up the wall of the altar table (center) or put it on the table is fine. (near wall, reference to our photos).
5. Stand in front of altar, hold the "Double hands Tin Yat handsign" in front of your chest and say 天一正法令, 急急如律令. Tin Yat Jing Faat Ling, Gup Gup Yue Lut Ling. Stomp your left foot once. bow 3 times.(see the video for reference on the handsign and spell pronunciation)
Done!!!
If you wish to go with incense burning, you must use the regular Chinese style incense. Get an incense pot (which can be any pot for flowers too, filled with fine sand which can all be bought from Lowes or Home Depot). Setup the pot in front of the frame and use the handsign with incense to activate and building the altar instead.
If you would like to be ordained into Tin Yat Lineage, this altar is a must to have in order to start. So it will not be too early to start today if you are interested in learning Taoism magic from us! |
