How we Teach in Tin Yat Lineage
Learn Taoism Online
Mak Jo Si and Lau Jo Si do not teach in a classroom or a lecture hall. For now, students are all over the world and so we teach online by e-mail, chats and so on. Learning Taoism is fun and the pace of learning can be different for all as well. Some will want to learn a lot and learn very fast, some would like to go slow and easy. It's okay, we teach according to your desired pace and we teach you anything you like as long as you want to learn as well.
Famous quote "We always teach more than expected, but it's often the students who have to stay - please pause, but don't stop!" haha!
When you learn from us, you will know that learning Taoism is way funnier than you think it is. Taoism magic and wisdom comes in a combo, that is REAL TAOISM. |

What we need from you
To learn Taoism from the Jo Si, we require you to be able to communicate with us by e-mail, that is the basic. Please, a digital camera that can let us see you and your Tin Yat Deity Altar and so on. Don't take photos with your oven or microwave, that is not today's technology. We also would be happy to see you in video as well if you have a DV or something, but it's fine if you don't have one.
The Jo Si also wound need you to be honest with us at all time. Trust is what our relationship is bonded with, and so if trust is not there, the relationship will fall apart.
You must also be able to build a Tin Yat Deity Altar at home in order to learn Taoism as well. Therefore, please go with the DIY instructions and your altar will for sure expand with more things as you learn more from us. It doesn't have to be expensive. Just a table, a frame, it cost you just very little to start. No fancy antique tables, please. Something simple as a board with four legs from IKEA works. No fancy stuff.
Chinese or English?
No matter you know or not know Chinese, we still teach you well. Here is a video demonstration of our non-Chinese student with zero Chinese background, Tin Yang. He is outstanding and his passion in Taoism is really wild too. So here is him doing the Tin Yat Scripture. On the right is Mak Jo Si doing the scripture in a more extensive form!
So no matter you are Asian or not, it doesn't matter. Taoism is for everybody, anybody, as long as you do not go evil and you have a good heart and faith, then that's already a YES to start!
